Brightwater – Mississauga, Ontario

Brightwater: a new community on the waterfront

Slokker Canada Corp. and its local partner the FRAM Building Group, in partnership with 3 other well known Canadian real estate companies have formed Port Credit West Village Partners Inc. (“WVP”) that has been selected as the buyer of a 73 acre site at Lakeshore and Mississauga Road in Port Credit, Ontario owned by Imperial Oil. The Agreement of Purchase and Sale was signed and executed on December 15, 2016 and, closed on the land on March 23rd 2017. The 73 acre site sits in a vibrant area of Mississauga (Port Credit) with nearly 600 feet of frontage along Lake Ontario. Formerly an oil refinery, the site was decommissioned in 1990. This unique location, situated on the shores of Lake Ontario, is perfectly suited for a new mixed-use community leveraging the experience of FRAM/Slokker’s previous developments in the heart of Port Credit. The plans include cleaning up the contaminated soil and then the construction of a mixed-use community with retail, office, condo, townhouses and a campus (including a YMCA). Our team consists of renowned parties with their own specific contribution to the project.

City Park – Charlotte, North Carolina

A development with a great future

The former Charlotte Coliseum in North Carolina was acquired in 2006. The Coliseum was home to numerous sports teams including the NBA Charlotte Hornets, the WNBA Charlotte Sting and the NBA Charlotte Bobcats and it was also the main venue in Charlotte for national and international entertainment, political and cultural events. In June 2007 it was demolished and we began preparing the 170-acre site for redevelopment into City Park, a mixed-use community featuring new multi family, single family, retail, office and hotel development. It will also contain numerous parks, hiking trails and a Farmer’s Market. City Park will be surrounded by The Loop at City Park, a three mile hard surface trail system that will provide pedestrian connections to the developments and amenities that are adjacent to the site today which include 4 million square feet of office space, 1,000 hotel rooms, a 140 acre park and an 18 hole golf course. Phase I development began in 2008.

Hugging the shores of Lake Ontario, Port Credit is a lakefront community that over the years has shed its small-town roots for a hip persona. As Mississauga’s trendsetting waterfront playground, Port Credit has a palpable energy that is, as the town’s motto goes, “Always On. Always Electric.”
